The missions themselves are easy enough, but as soon as I turn for home the game dumps 3 Mes rocket fighters , 3 Mes jet fighters , and a couple heavy fighters that try to fly under you, and one of those twin tailed BFs that sits in front of you and shoots with it's tallgun. If I mess up at any point or a single enemy gets a lucky shot it's an instant total plane kill.

Any one of these planes can kill 3 of my crew in a single pass. And since you don't get money from intel photos and the mission payouts are so low, upgrading the plane is a huge pain.

I've gotten all my gun turrets to mk 1. I can't afford anything better because it takes two whole missions just to get one upgrade. The low level ones are still worthless which really affects the upgrade progression.
