My torrent wont stop downloading metadata

Same behaviour as macinoshee, also on 4. Works when turning off proxy. Also works again when turning proxy on after metadata has been downloaded. If I add new magnet links after turning proxy on again, it's stuck at same issue, downloading metadata.

Yes, true. As soon as metadata is downloaded I can switch proxy on and it continues download. I can confirm the proxy issue. Add magnet link: stalls at metadata downloading usually, sometimes it works as normal. Turn off proxy, wait for metadata to download, turn on proxy and it keeps downloads. The proxy used is privateinternetaccess. I've been having this issue since like 3. I just updated to 4. I selected "Use different port on each startup" and it the torrents immediately moved from downloading metadata to downloading.

Having the same issue with proxy on windows Thanks, as a fix that works for me until a proper fix comes along I'm using Qbittorrent-VPN docker.

Was working fine for me at first. I'm currently running Ubuntu Server Sonarr grabs the show, passes the magnet url to qbittorrent, and qbittorrent downloads the show.

First test worked fine, except that after download, Sonarr could not access the download location So to possibly fix this, I created a folder in a publically accessible location, and changed permissions so everyone and their grandmother could access it I am NOT using a proxy. But if I enable proxy without giving it any real proxy info, it will go away from the 'metadata' thing, and go into 'downloading' but does nothing. Once I switch back to 'none' for proxy, it then downloads a few bytes of data, then nothing.

Still says "downloading" but nothing is actually being downloaded. At this point, the people going "this is an upstream issue" need to actually think about what's going on I remember I used to use it on windows as my main torrent downloader, but moved away from it ages ago and couldn't remember why I did, but figured that whatever made me want to move away must have been fixed by now Check your rate limits.

If your rate limits for upload are set to 0, then change them to something reasonable. After doing this, everything immediately started downloading, and all the stalled downloads restarted. Now though, I'm not sure if this is what they're referring to as an 'upstream issue', as I was under the impression that when they kept saying 'upstream issue' they were talking about the code being uploaded to the PPA and thus being what gets 'downloaded' to the community Firstly, you need to make sure your Windows Firewall or anti-virus app is not blocking your uTorrent.

Although the uTorrent setup wizard will automatically add an exception for uTorrent in Windows Firewall, sometimes this will fail due to your third-party antivirus settings. If your antivirus app is doing an excellent job, it may take over control over your Windows Firewall and block your uTorrent, thus causing uTorrent not downloading issues.

If your uTorrent is stuck on connecting to peers , it can be a temporary stale download caused by outdated seeders or trackers. This will immediately check for more peers. Then navigate to the uTorrent folder and delete the file named resume. The culprit can be uTorrent settings such as ports not working, you can run a quick test and let uTorrent adjust its settings automatically.

Some of the configurations of uTorrent will interfere with your internet connection, thus causing the uTorrent not downloading issues. Here is how to fix it:. Again, I'll let you know if any other issues arises. Hope that you have a great day I'm having this same problem.

I don't really know what I'm supposed to do. My roommate is also having the problem with the new update as well. Since i upgraded to 7. Nothing has changed in configuration and Network indicator is green DHT nodes. Gotta say after this new build, I have been having at least one crash every few days bitTorrent crashes. Not able to download [anything anywhere] unless from PB, in which torrents go into the hidden label.

I've never had any problems before 7. I used to use uTorrent until last month, when an update was made available and I obviously updated my version of the said software. Since that day, uTorrent no longer worked: no downloading, no seeding which I do a lot , no seeds or peers detecting, and just a few nodes found in terms of DHT and sometimes the "waiting to log in" message. I re-installed uTorrent but to no relevant results: the situations persisted.

Therefore, I downloaded BitTorrent, just to check if it was a software issue of uTorrent. And it worked! It worked perfectly fine, until the day some weeks ago when an update was made available and I downloaded it. Guess what. BitTorrent no longer worked as it should, and I get the "waiting to log in" of DHT all the time, and just a little few nodes sometimes.

Now, I use a laptop and all this problem only happen when I'm online via the internet connection I have at my place. When I'm at my folks' place, and use their internet connection, everything works fine with BitTorrent.

I acknowledge this is a connection problem, but I'm clueless on how to fixe it. Someone mentioned on using a different connection and working.

I work on the road, so I change every few nights to new hotels and since 7. Hoping to find an answer on here soon. I had never used it, and didn't notice that it was turned on.

I uninstalled this program and immediately, my downloads were working. Existing user? There is high probability that you don't get any ip blocked messages now. I have disabled that. Remind me in the weekend to prepare for you a new msvc build. Then I want you to create a mini dump from process explorer. The build you're using is build with gcc and it has different symbols and I am not sure I'll be able to get the minidump to work with gdb.

I have the same problem with version 4. On three popular torrents with over reported seeds, I was stuck at "downloading metadata" for an hour with no peers or seeds found. I downloaded Deluge onto the same system and set up my proxy info exactly as I have it in qBittorrent, and it started downloading all torrents immediately.

The log doesn't reveal anything interesting as far as I can see; just routine actions such as "torrent added. I'm on 4. I suddenly can't seem to get any to start downloading. Yea no I will just close this, it was a issue. Skip to content. Star New issue.

Jump to bottom. Copy link. It shows many seeds and peers but it is not fetching the torrent file. Both uTorrent and Tixati is able to download the torrent file. Which qbt version and OS are you using?
