I have to manually enter the desired download directory. But only if you don't use the "incomplete download directory" feature. I have found that if I don't use the incomplete directory and have transmission just final directory, the NTFS slowly gets corrupted and you have to remove the drive and put on a PC and have it fix the drive.

When I do that, I tend to loose files that were downloaded with transmission. I had wrongly assumed that setting permission for a share or a folder means sub folders within that share or folder get the same permission settings unless you manually change them.

I have not tested an internal drive or this condition with an alpha lead char folder name. On the other possibly related issue I reported in the forums about failure to start torrents, I provide pages of test results with limited interest. With equal respect, you're the only one seeing this behavior, so it would be extremely helpful if you could outline the recipe to trigger the behavior.

Ever since I reinstalled Freenas I have no been able to get Transmission to actually work. No matter what I have tried I have not been able to actually download a file.
