Robin hobb assassins fate audiobook free download
Fitz, as a bastard child, doesn't fit into any part of society. So he is taken under the wing of one of the great assassins. Fitz is a wonderfully flawed character who must pave his own path through life, and the stakes are high. Of note, Hobb does an incredible job of writing the internal monologue of the wolf character "Nighteyes".
Highly recommend this series for all adventurers. I love this collection for a lot of things: its rich backgrounds and also impressive world building, its endearingly human personalities defects and all , its immersive writing, however one of my preferred things about it is the refined weaving of dragons into the tale. The more you read, the extra you begin to realize their considerable influence on the globe and characters. As someone that enjoys dragons practically obsessively, I consumed every word.
Unusually however, I would not call these series dragon-centric since, while necessary to the story, they are typically not the prime focus. Each collection brings with it loads of new explorations, and also I valued every detail. Finding out the histories of this world is also one of my preferred components to the collection. Each new information felt like a discovery, and also it reached a factor where I was holding on every word, hoping to discover a lot more.
All the books Hobb has actually written in this globe are incredible. Each story is a slow burn that takes its time, developing momentum as it goes. I appreciated her Farseer Trilogy, however I would certainly been delaying starting her following one due to the fact that I comprehended just how entirely it would certainly attract me in.
I think I truly did not truly consume this. Fitz Chivalry, the lead character and also author, does not leave his remote homestead along with launch the tale up till web page Yet throughout, Fitz gets many website visitors, along with their conversations submit the fifteen years due to the fact that the last book finished. I really did not always require the details, however I delighted in linking these individualities one more time.
Audio Books. There is no feeling quite like falling in love with a great fantasy listen, doing a little digging, and joyfully discovering that the author has an extensive catalog of audiobooks for you to dive right into. Fantasy as a genre is particularly blessed with a wealth of diverse authors writing all different kinds of stories. These brilliant fantasy authors will transport you to another world—whether a parallel universe or a post-apocalyptic version of Earth.
This was lovely pain. I listened at 2. I will never forget these characters and this world. Thank you Robin for making me laugh, rage, cry and care so much that it hurt. A satisfying unforseen end to a great series. Robin Hobb , you have out done yourself. It was a non-stop emotional rollercoaster right down to the ending. Thank you for such a for sharing this tale with us.
I enjoyed all of your books but Assassin's Fate takes the trophy. I would say why but I don't want to give away the plot points.
READ these Books! I have read all the books by Robin Hobbs throughout the years but in paperbacks and e-book. This is the first time I tried this series on audio. Currently I am on chapter 7 and I am struggling to go on listening.
Fool's voice is very different from what he had sounded in my head when I'm reading the past books. The narrator made him sound like a wheezy, old man. He was like on the verge of death every time he speak. It was so hard to listen to him and it distracts me from fully enjoying the book.
The other character's voices are good and I understand that they need to have different voices to distinguish who's who. But why, oh why does the Fool have the ugliest voice?? Maybe I'll buy the physical book if I cannot stand his voice anymore. There are few things that stirred such emotion as this series and more specifically this recording. There few words to convey such deep and unabating grief I felt towards the end. It was like losing a friend. Robin Hobb has once again outdone herself.
The characters and their development during the book all culminated this glorious conclusion. Elliot Hill should feel proud of his rendering of the final book of this series.
He brought alive the words as written while maintaining the emotions imparted therein. So long Fitz, Nighteyes, and The Fool; happy hunting. If you could sum up Assassin's Fate in three words, what would they be? Inevitable, engaging, and emotional. What did you like best about this story? This is a tough story to get through, largely because of the constant turmoil of favorite characters. However, if you have read many of Hobb's books, this is something to be expected.
For the narrative parts of the book, Elliot Hills performance is decent enough. His pace and voice are both soothing and pleasant. However, his female voices are intensely annoying. He just doesn't have the knack it.
It's unfortunate because there are several major female characters, and its' rough listening to it. While the wrap up of the story didn't necessarily take a bad turn, I was disappointed in a couple of things. I'll be vague, so as not to give anything away. I was sad that our main character who we have spent so much time with and come to know never seemed to get out of his obvious depression and find joy in life. He lived a defeated, struggle of a life and I don't feel that he ever found redemption or joy.
Others may disagree, but after listening to all 9 books in a row, that is my feeling. Graphic descriptions of child abuse and adult abuse permeate this book. We get it -- people were horrible. The constant recounting of evil, horrific abuse became gratuitous and grating.
I would have skipped many sections if this book of I hadn't been listening to the audio version. Overall, I feel let down and somewhat abandoned by this final volume.
I don't think the characters were true to the spirit in which they were developed earlier. It's a dark end to what was an enjoyable story arc.
It's too bad -- I was hoping to have a series I could enjoy again and again. What would have made Assassin's Fate better? If the author had stuck to the characterizations she so painstakingly created over the past 20 years. If the Fool resembled the character we fans adored. If Hobb had not focused so much on the Liveship journey, If she had not ignored the love between Fitz and Beloved. If she had given them the ending they deserved and not G.
R Martin style cruelty. If Bee had not been a Mary Sue character. If Hobb had not built up The Whites to be such evil, to then let them be defeated so effortlessly. If Hobb had not killed her darlings
